Life Cycle Decision at EcoResonance
EcoResonance uses Life Cycle Decision (LCD) as one of the tools within its broader scientific assessment of environmental projects, technologies, products and decisions.
From environmental evidence to a decision
Environmental studies can provide extensive data without necessarily answering the decision that follows.
Can alternatives actually be compared? Which assumptions influence the result? Are important environmental trade-offs being hidden by a single indicator? What does the evidence support — and where are its limits?
In EcoResonance projects, LCD helps make these questions explicit.
We use it to support:
- interpretation of LCA, EPD, carbon-footprint and related environmental studies;
- comparison of products, technologies and project alternatives;
- identification of assumptions, limitations, trade-offs and evidence gaps;
- environmental and sustainability claims;
- product-passport and reporting evidence;
- investment, procurement and project decisions;
- clearer communication of what environmental evidence does — and does not — support.
One tool within a wider scientific assessment
LCD does not replace LCA, environmental modelling, monitoring, laboratory analysis, regulatory assessment or expert judgement.
EcoResonance selects and combines methods according to the project and the decision being made.
A project may require LCD together with life cycle assessment, environmental or water-system analysis, scientific literature, monitoring data, technical evidence, regulatory criteria or other specialist methods.
The objective is not simply to produce another score or report. It is to make the evidence, assumptions, trade-offs and reasoning behind a decision clearer and more traceable.
Where EcoResonance applies LCD
LCD can contribute to EcoResonance work involving:
- environmental and sustainability claims;
- green-claim and anti-greenwashing review;
- product, technology and project comparison;
- LCA and environmental-report interpretation;
- product passports and environmental reporting;
- investment and project screening;
- procurement and evidence review;
- environmental decision governance;
- education and capacity building.
The exact assessment is defined by the available evidence, the environmental question and the decision context.
EcoResonance application and LCD software
EcoResonance applied work uses LCD within broader scientific and consultancy projects, together with the other evidence and methods required for the specific environmental decision.
Life Cycle Decision software is the separate digital platform for users and organisations that want to work directly with LCD workflows and decision-governance tools.
Verified EcoResonance applications and case material will be added here as they become available.
